  • Perishable foods and preparations or homemade food .
  • Plants, seeds, soil and non-certified plant products.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, perfume sprays and aerosols (dangerous goods in aircraft).
  • Weapons, explosives, flammable or toxic substances.
  • Unpacked lithium batteries according to IATA regulations.

Always check the courier's list of prohibited items and, if in doubt, ask for confirmation before shipping.

  • Double packaging: make the gift package inside a larger box.
  • Protection: bubble wrap and filling on all sides; the object must remain firm in the centre.
  • Sturdy box (double-wave cardboard), strong tapes, clearly visible label.
  • Fragile“ label if necessary and complete data of the recipient (a copy of the data also on the inside, just in case of loss or damage to the outer label).

Earlier is better: prepare your shipments at the end of November / beginning of December. Avoid the week of 24-26 December - couriers do not operate on holidays and the peak season lengthens the time.

If you are late, consider a 24/48h express, but consider possible delays there too.

For international shipments non-EU countries need complete documents:

  • Waybill with data, summary description and weight.
  • Proforma Invoice for gifts between private individuals: indicate “Gift / non-commercial”, detailed description and realistic value of each item.
  • Contact details: recipient's name, address and telephone/email (essential for customs clearance).

Avoid unrealistic symbolic values; if the gift is valuable, warn the recipient of possible burdens on arrival, i.e. customs duties
