DHL Express offers international door-to-door deliveries to more than 220 countries and territories within 1-3 days.

From Monday to Friday, DHL Express services offer express delivery by the end of the next available working day.

For the sake of clarity, if for instance your parcel is picked up on Friday, it will be delivered on Monday (the next working day).

If necessary and for an additional charge, Saturday delivery is possible. This service is not available in all areas.

If for special reasons the parcel cannot be delivered and therefore remains in the DHL warehouse, the parcel is said to be in storage or the shipment is held in stock. This incurs an additional charge.

Delivery charges apply when the shipment cannot be cleared through customs due to inaccurate or missing documents or cannot be delivered due to an error in the destination address or inability to contact the recipient

Charges become effective three working days after the date of arrival of the carriage or notification to the customs agent, whichever occurs first.

If you have a shipment in storage, it is advisable to act as quickly as possible to unblock the parcel and get it to its destination.

DHL delivery days and times vary depending on the service chosen and whether this is national or international. Public holidays and weekends also affect delivery times.

DHL's delivery days in Italy are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. DHL does not offer delivery on weekends or public holidays in Italy, unless you are willing to pay extra and make special arrangements for delivery.

DHL ships Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Daily delivery times may vary depending on the size of the parcel and the delivery address.

After ordering the shipment online, the confirmation or tracking notification e-mail contains the tracking number of the shipment, also known as the identification number.

Tracking numbers for DHL come in different formats, depending on the service. For DHL Express this is a 10-digit number starting with 000, JJD01, JJD00, JVGL or a similar variation.

The DHL Express waybill must be attached to the outside of the parcel or pallet so that anyone handling the shipment can easily access the details of the shipment.

The waybill also known as an AWB is therefore a document that accompanies the goods shipped by DHL and allows for their tracking. It serves as a receipt of goods as well as a contract of carriage between the shipper and the carrier.
